The power of intention is a force that utilizes the collective consciousness. There is extensive research showing THAT collective intention can work to change our physical world even if HOW it works is still an open question (see below).
Ancient Chinese Philosophy speaks of the Qi that is the building blocks of life
and the Li that is the organizing principle. Ancient Egyptian cultures spoke of
a net that could be wielded to manifest physical change. Judeo-Christian religions
give the power to enact change to the will of God, while Eastern religions attribute
that power to natural forces.
Modern scientific materialism does not allow for a controlling principle and believes the only in the four forces that have already been discovered - gravity, electromagnetic forces, and strong and weak nuclear forces. Quantum physics posits the theory of quantum entanglement to explain the non-locality of certain events, while more recent attempts at explanation involve the concept of biofields (a complex organizing energy field engaged in the generation, maintenance, and regulation of biological homeo-dynamics) and Rupert Sheldrake's Morphogenic Resonance theory.
Most, if not all, of us have had experiences with loved ones that can not be explained
through science's materialistic lens. The phone rings and it is your friend that you
haven't spoken to in over a year, but were JUST thinking about. You have a dream
of an event or place and find yourself living some element of the dream a few days later.
You have a bad feeling about a parent only to find out they took ill.
